Myanmar

Travel

A country closed to the outside world from 1962-2011, held under the strict dictatorial rule of the military junta government, opened to limited tourism in 2011. The Burmese people are the kindest, most friendly people I have come across. Eager to practice English, remnants of the British colonial rule, they warmly approached to ask where I was from and what I thought of their country. A fascinating culture truly living up to its moniker "Magical Myanmar", this country will always hold a special place in my heart.
