Decorating with Portraits...A Little Pinspiration

Most times when I ask clients what they plan to do with their portraits they have a vague idea but nothing specific. It's a great idea to really think about where you want to put your portraits whether you're creating a gallery wall display or showcasing them on a shelf. You'll want to consider the colors of the room or area where the pictures will live so you can be sure to coordinate wardrobe colors that will look great in that space. I've put together a little "Pinspiration Gallery" to get your juices flowing. I love the look of frameless canvas or gallery block groupings. It creates a clean, art gallery look that focuses solely on the imagery.

Another option is creating a tight layout with framed images. The closeness of the frames gives the overall idea of one unit but you have the opportunity to display many images.

The large grid gallery with white frames and mats is a beautiful, clean display option with high visual impact.

Another way to showcase photos is on shelving. Shelves give you the opportunity to incorporate other objects, creating an interesting vignette.

Last but not least, you can create a gallery of images using a brightly colored frame. The pop of color can tie into your decor seamlessly and create a real statement.
